About Muscle Milk

Muscle Milk is a line of protein and nutrition products that include ready-to-drink shakes and powder mixes. Muscle Milk products are designed for anyone looking to support both all-day and exercise recovery. We offer a wide range of products that can help support your active lifestyle.

While Muscle Milk products do not currently make gluten-free label claims, none of the ingredients in Muscle Milk powders or shakes are derived from grains or flours that have been linked to gluten sensitivity.

All Muscle Milk Protein Powder products are NSF Certified for Sport, ensuring that they are safe and free of banned substances.

Our ready-to-drink shakes are shelf stable, and we recommend storing them between 40 - 80°F. Once opened, they should be consumed right away.

All of our Muscle Milk products have a "Best Taste Date", which is very different from an expiration date often found on perishable items such as dairy and meat products. Our "Best taste date" is a self-imposed indicator that has been listed on the shoulders of our bottles and containers. We provide this information simply to help ensure that our products are consumed by this date at their absolute best flavor.

Muscle Milk is designed for anyone looking to support recovery for those with an active lifestyle.

Protein & Recovery

Protein provides amino acids that help support muscle repair and recovery after exercise or physical activity.

After a workout, many people look for fluids to help rehydrate and protein to help support muscle recovery. Carbohydrates can also help refuel the body and restore glycogen after longer or more intense workouts.

Protein is the major nutrient associated with supporting muscle recovery after workouts or strenuous activity.

Rehydrating and refueling as soon as you can after exercise helps support recovery.

Eating protein shortly after training or competition is important for muscle recovery. A small amount (approximately 20 grams for an average 175 lb athlete) of high-quality, complete protein (containing all the essential amino acids) as soon as possible after athletic activity helps rebuild muscles. For more precise recommendations, recent research estimates ~0.25 g/kg of body weight.
