At twenty years old, Mauricio “Mau” Mendez is catching the attention of the global endurance sports community with stand-out performances in just two years of professional off-road and road racing. Placing fourth at the 2015 XTERRA World Championship, Mendez finished only 14 seconds short of third place after having the race’s fastest run time. In his pro debut at the 2014 XTERRA World Championship, Mendez was first out of the water and moved up three places in the final 800 meters of the run to take fifth.
